A1220 MONOLITH UPVT - Ultimate Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Tester

The all-rounder ultrasonic pulse velocity testing instrument for quality assessment of concrete structures with up to 15 meters thru-transmission and pulse-echo capability.

Product Description

An all-rounder ultrasonic pulse velocity tester (UPVT) for quality assessment of concrete compliant with valid international standards.

The instrument is capable of driving the widest range of ultrasonic transducers in the frequency range from 20 to 1.000 KHz for through-transmitting up to 15 meters of concrete. Apart of use of regular pietoelectric probes, Dry-Point-Contact transducers and transducer arrays can be applied for couplant-free operation on arbitrary surface condition.

Application

The instrument is suitable for compressive strength evaluation of concrete, estimation of the open crack depth, evaluation of elastic properties as well as pulse-echo testing including 3-dimensional imaging based on SAFT principle.

The evaluation of material compressive strength is based on correlation of longitudinal or share ultrasonic wave velocity in concrete with its mechanical properties. UPVT measurements are performed by thru-transmission of inspection object by means of two transducer arrays.
Further possible areas of application of A1220 MONOLITH UPVT are:
• Evaluation of the load-carrying ability of concrete backbones and posts.
• Evaluation of porosity and fissuring of concrete.
• Evaluation of anisotropy in composite materials.
• Evaluation of the concrete aging

Following applicationfeatures are available:

• Applicable on construction materials: concrete, stone, ceramics, wood, masonry, plastics, polymers, glass, composites, rubber
• Couplant-free inspection of standard concrete cores and tiny samples with unique 250 KHz transducers (dimensions start from 50x50x50 mm3)
• Automatic gain control for easy-going in-situ setting and operation
• Compliance with DIN EN 12504-4, BS 1881 : Part 203 : 1986, ASTM C597 – 16, IS 516 (Part 5/Sec 1) : 2018
• SonReb Method on-board
• Data visualization and processing in INTROVIEW CONCRETE© software package (in instrument delivery volume)
• Extraordinary high penetration ability when using 25 kHz transducers
