Indirect Longitudinal Probe Holder for ACS DPC Transducers (IL-18xx Series)
The IL-18xx Indirect Longitudinal-Wave Probe Holder is a precision mechanical accessory for performing single-sided ultrasonic measurements with ACS Dry-Point-Contact (DPC) transducers. It is designed specifically for use with the A1220 MONOLITH UPVT – Ultimate Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Tester.
In indirect (surface) mode, both DPC transducers are positioned on the same accessible surface of the material. The IL-18xx holder ensures correct alignment, a stable probe-to-probe pitch distance, and constant perpendicular coupling force. These conditions are essential for accurate and repeatable longitudinal-wave (P-wave) velocity measurements on concrete, stone, masonry, and composite structures.
The IL-18xx series is available in several standard pitch options matching all ACS longitudinal DPC transducers supported by the A1220 MONOLITH UPVT. This enables high-quality surface-based UPV assessment when direct transmission is not possible or when only one surface of the structure is accessible.

The IL-18xx holder is used with the A1220 MONOLITH UPVT – Ultimate Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Tester to perform longitudinal-wave measurements in indirect (surface) transmission mode. Both DPC transducers are mounted on the same side of the inspected material, enabling UPV evaluation when opposite-side access is limited.
Accurate indirect P-wave readings require:
• parallel alignment of the two ACS DPC probes
• constant perpendicular coupling force
• a stable and reproducible pitch distance
The IL-18xx holder ensures optimal positioning conditions through a rigid mechanical frame and a spring-stabilised coupling mechanism.
