Direct Shear-Wave Probe Holder for ACS DPC Transducers (DS-18xx Series)

The DS-18xx Direct Shear-Wave Probe Holder is a precision alignment and coupling accessory designed for use with ACS Dry-Point-Contact (DPC) shear transducers in direct transmission mode. It is fully compatible with the A1220 MONOLITH UPVT – Ultimate Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Tester.

In the direct method, the transmitting and receiving shear-wave probes are mounted on opposite sides of the inspected object. The DS-18xx holder ensures accurate opposite-side alignment, stable mechanical coupling, and a fixed pitch distance between the two transducers. These mechanical conditions are essential for high-quality shear-wave propagation through concrete, stone, and masonry, enabling reliable through-transmission ultrasonic velocity measurements.

The DS-18xx series supports several standard pitch configurations optimised for all ACS shear-wave DPC transducers. This allows high-sensitivity S-wave velocity assessment, particularly useful for detecting cracks, delamination, stiffness gradients and anisotropy in structural materials.

Accurate direct S-wave transmission requires:
